As always, welcome to the Bakery!  The title of "Greatest Keyboardist Ever - As Chosen By The Members Of The CBS Sportsline Community" has been decided!   A big thank you to everyone who participated!  To see the finals blog, click here:

Without further ado, the title of "Greatest Keyboardist Ever - As Chosen By The Members Of The CBS Sportsline Community" goes to:

Keith Emerson

Here are the detailed results.  As always, seeding is in parenthesis, votes received are in brackets, and the winner is in bold.

(1) Rick Wakeman [8] vs. (3) Keith Emerson [11]

Just a note: On the finals bracket, I said that voting closed on Saturday morning.  However, I will not be here tomorrow morning, and actually I do not know the next time I will be here in the morning - probably not till next weekend!  Therefore, I decided to close voting today.  Sorry for any inconvenience.

Any ideas for a new blog after this are still appreciated, however, a new vote off would probably not start until early September.  I enjoyed running this vote - off (my first one ever!)  It has been interesting tallying everyone's votes and reading your comments.  Thanks again to everyone who has taken the time to participate!

As always, happy posting!

Best Keyboardists In Music - The Winner

Wow. This was a very interesting blog. Keyboardists are not always the face of the band. Sure you have the Billy Joels and Alicia Keys that stand out but some of the truly great keyboardist have been behind the shadows of front men. This insight takes nothing away from the blog or the super talent of Emerson or Wakeman. I always find it interesting when you have the talent to arrange, compose and sing. That is a true rarity. Great pianists range from classical to blues. Keyboeard is like the electric guitar. Originating from the acoustic the fromat is the same but the sound possibilities are endless. Great blog Muffin!!
